Xiaonan Yan hit very cheap after losing two bouts in a row, but her misfortunate recently turned around.

Yan went toe-to-toe with Mackenzie Dern in the primary event of UFC Vegas 61 this last weekend. The bout went the length and in the long run, it had been Yan who took the majority decision victory.

During her interview on the UFC Vegas 61 post-fight show on ESPN+, Yan discussed going right through hardships before finally getting back the win column (via MMAJunkie).

I can’t be happier at this time, Yan said on the ESPN+ post-fight show. I lost my last two fights, so per year long I didnt feel happy. I was pretty lower in the prior year. I worked so difficult hoping today would get back to me.

Yan feels her decision to help keep training in america paid.

Personally i think happy that I made a good choice in which to stay the U.S. and keep training at Team Alpha Male. The complete team helped me a whole lot. Mackenzies jiu-jitsu is certainly another level. I felt it through the fight. Shes very dangerous. There have been frequently through the fight it had been very dangerous. But I survived during that and I managed to get.

So far as what the near future has waiting for you, Yan remains hopeful that she is one able to day capture UFC gold.

My ultimate goal in the UFC may be the belt, Yan said. Now I’ve fought the very best wrestler in this division, the very best striker in this division, the very best jiu-jitsu fighter in this division. So regardless of who the UFC gives me, I dont fear. Just, lets fight.
