Yellowjackets Enlists Obi-Wan Kenobi Actress Simone Kessell for Season 2

Viewers are going to learn exactly who the fuck Lottie Matthews is really on Showtimes Emmy-nominated Yellowjackets.

The premium cable network has enlisted Obi-Wan Kenobi actress Simone Kessell to play the role of the mysterious Lottie Matthews in Yellowjackets present-day storyline. The characters arrival was teased in the growing season one finale and tripped a wave of online casting ideas for the breakout series.

Courtney Eaton, who plays the 1996-set version of Lottie, in addition has been promoted to series regular.

Kessell becomes the most recent recent addition to the present-day storyline on Yellowjackets. Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under) was recently put into the cast because the adult version of Liv Hewsons Van. Hewson was also promoted to series regular for season two.

The casting arrives following the January freshman season finale opened the entranceway for additional surviving members of the Yellowjackets team to surface in the shows present-day storyline. Creators/showrunners Bart Nickerson and Ashley Lyle, within an hourlonginterviewwithTVs Top 5, said the adult version of Lottie will be on the list of new characters introduced in season two.

Adult Ali the Yellowjacket whose leg Taissa (Jasmin Savoy Brown) broke in the pilot may also be among those more likely to return. With regards to other survivors, we plant the flag that Lottie is lurking in the shadows and meeting her soon. Ideally, we shall probably meet a minumum of one other, Lyle said.

Kessell joins fellowYellowjacketsadult castmembers including Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, Juliette Lewis and Tawney Cypress. The 1990s-set drama counts stars including Hewson, Ella Purnell, Samantha Hanratty, Sophie Thatcher, Brown and Sophie Nelisse. Lyle, Nickerson and Jonathan Lisco serve as exec producers and showrunners.

Season two is poised to begin with production Aug. 30. A return date have not yet been announced.

If you have someone playing the 1996 version already, its harder to cast that second person once you have the initial person embodying it, Nickerson told THR in a recently available Emmy interview. Its a qualification of difficulty that means it is exciting and satisfying once the fans know who it must be. Its like solving a puzzle you have so few options as the character already exists.

Kessells other credits include Our Flag Means Death and Terra Nova. Shes currently onscreen as Breha Organa, mom to the kid version of Princess Leia, on the Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi. Shes repped by Buchwald.
